Signs of Foundation Repair Around Your Home

Do you notice doors that won’t close? Bulging floors? Perhaps you see cracks in your walls or floor. These are indications of foundation distress, which may require a Built Strong foundation repair.

One reason why a foundation may fail is gains or losses in soil moisture causing swelling or shrinking of the soil; another could be poor building pad construction (soils were not compacted properly). Both these conditions disturb a foundation causing movement. If you see signs of a foundation distress, don’t delay in solving the problem, as it will lead to further damage to your property. Built Strong’s team of experts can help you with a swift, quality repair that will address any issues to your foundation.

We have several solutions for Foundation Repair:

Complete Foundation Replacement:

If necessary we can perform a complete foundation replacement.  This would include replacing the entire concrete slab under the home and pouring a new layer of concrete which would be reinforced with rebar technology.

Foundation Repair

Basic repair needs include solutions for issues such as cracks in your walls or floors.

Square Shaft Pile Helical Piers: Used in both uplift and compression situations. These piles have considerable weight bearing capacity.  However a majority projects with Square Shaft piles are used for upward or tension jobs intended to raise the foundation to its correct and level position.

With the type of fitting process that we use, the Helical Piers can be installed any time of the year or any season and only require minimal equipment, as to lessen any immediate disturbance and acts a as a noise reducer. To learn more about Helical Pier systems (click here)

Jacks: Multiple different sized jacks may be used to correct Foundation leveling issues.  The jacks are used to lift raised foundations by disconnecting the house from the foundation frame and manually jacking up the house then reattaching the house to the foundation framing.   Each jack has a capacity of supporting up to 20 tons or 40,000 pounds.

Concrete Slab repair: Concrete slabs often crack after a period of time.  Slab settlement and cracking is often due to soil related issues.  Often times intense weather conditions such as heat which can cause the soils to shrink, affecting levels of foundations.   If left untreated, cracks can increase in size, causing major damage to your home.  A cracked slab can eventually pull apart walls, cause drainage problems, and even allow insects and vermin to enter the home.  Built Strong’s quick and easy foundation slab repairs will prevent any of these unnecessary and irritating problems.

Slab Repair Solutions

Slab issues are resolved by slab piers. Slab piers are a posts which provide resistance, adding support for the concrete. Slab piers are driven onto the ground and then are used to lift the foundation slab.

Benefits to Slab Piers:

  • Year round applications
  • Can improve or increase home value
  • Fats installation
  • No damage to surrounding areas and yards

 Temporary techniques used during projects

We also use temporary shoring.  Temporary shoring is a temporary support system either lumber or steel used to hold the structure during repairs preventing collapse.
